Born and raised in Washington, DC, Whitney Chantél is a Bajan-American singer, songwriter, and performer whose love for music began at an early age. Coming from a musical lineage — including her grandfather Edward Jefferson of The Cashmeres — Whitney was drawn to the stage early, performing in talent shows, poetry slams, and productions at the Kennedy Center.
A graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts and Bowie State University (Musical Theatre), Whitney has consistently created opportunities not only for herself but for other young artists, producing showcases and mentoring performers throughout her journey. Navigating mental health challenges, she introduced her fearless alter-ego “Chantél” as a form of artistic expression and empowerment.
Now a mother, wife, and entrepreneur, Whitney is stepping fully into her artistry, preparing to introduce “Chantél” to the world through new music that reflects confidence, growth, and unapologetic self-expression.
