Described As "Emo shadow underneath, slacker-indie on the surface, all of it sounding natural rather than worked over."” by IdiotEQ Mag, Milk St. is the musical brainchild of songwriter and bandleader Jonah Wakefield. Conceived in Bangor, ME, where Wakefield grew up - a town best known as the home of famed horror writer Stephen King - the band hit the ground running in 2022 with their debut album, Spaced, launching headfirst into the cruel and unforgiving world of DIY touring. In just over a year, they performed one hundred and forty shows, from Maine to Florida to Toronto and almost everywhere in between. In 2023, the band released their second album, the critically acclaimed V3RMONT, which opened new doors for them. Jonah and his bandmates found themselves sharing the stage with such acts as Pile, Sister Wife Sex Strike, and Pigeon Pit and playing sold-out shows in their home base of New England. With a recent move to New Hampshire to make touring distances a little shorter, the alternative rock band - with a foot in the door of art, indie, and folk punk - has quickly become one of the most exciting and relevant acts on the scene today. With their forthcoming LP, Good Grief - a luminous thirteen-track offering - they provide more than enough testament to their authenticity and inventiveness.
