Meyru writes impassioned, guitar-driven songs anchored by melodic hooks and deeply personal lyrics. After recording their album, Slow Up, the band supported its release with a series of sold-out shows all over New York City, San Francisco, Atlanta, DC, Austin, Philadelphia. The album's single "Off White" found breakaway success on streaming platforms, allowing Meyru to reach a truly global fanbase, and become the first signee to The Revels Groups' label Coup D'eTat Music.
Based in NYC, the band is working with Sam Skinner (Pinegrove, Forth Wanderers), Jay Som (boygenius, Bachelor), and Dave Cerminara (Father John Misty, Paris Texas) to bring their vision for Meyru's next chapter to life: Imitation Honey releasing in 2024. In line with their previous records, Meyru is recording each song entirely live with the intention of bringing out the true energy felt in their live shows. Meyru will be performing their new work throughout 2024 supporting Marc E Bassy, Skizzy Mars, Dogpark and their own headline shows.
Born from the smokey depths of Brooklyn nightlife, Honeysucker is a sonic
manifestation of the raw energy that pulses through the city after-hours, echoing with
late-night confessions, neon glows, and rain-soaked streets.
Formed in 2022 by Brooklyn-based indie-pop artists Jack Brickner and Sam Wright, the
band emerged as a fresh creative reset, blending elements of new wave, R&B, indie,
and pop into what some have dubbed “Land-Locked Yacht Rock.” After a year of
writing, recording, and live testing across NYC, they expanded their live lineup to
include Zach Kornhauser and Gavi Kutliroff.
With a breakout EP (Headed for a Dive), a string of fresh singles, and an electrifying live
show, Honeysucker has quickly carved out its place in the city’s music scene, selling out
the Sultan Room, Nublu, and Union Pool, and are hitting the road this fall with stops in
DC, Philly, Boston, Kingston, and Toronto.
