Hardworking political punk legends MDC formed in Austin, Texas in 1979 and currently reside in Portland, Oregon. Originally called The Stains, the band, along with The Dicks and Big Boys, were a staple of the Texas punk rock scene which was often overlooked at the time. The initials MDC have multiple meanings; Multi-Death Corporation, Missile Destroyed Civilization, Millions of Dead Children, and Millions of Damn Christians are a few, but the most popular is Millions of Dead Cops (which is the original meaning of MDC). The band’s initial run lasted from 1979 to 1995. After that, they went on hiatus until 2000 when frontman Dave Dictor returned with new members and new releases including 2023's "War is a Racket"
