Pursuing diy music and art through self-conscious, self-irreverent emo.
Thoughtful lyricism over driving instrumentals, bedroom confessions and basement anthems.
Soul Meets Body is a high-energy punk rock band from Washington, DC, blending the raw power of DC hardcore with sugary pop melodies, grungy textures, and a touch of shoegaze haze. Their sound is as eclectic as it is cohesive—equal parts grit and glitter, delivered with theatrical flair. Known for their dynamic live shows and unapologetic presence, Soul Meets Body isn’t just here to play music—they're building a community. Every show is a safe, inclusive space for all people, regardless of race, gender, or belief. Come for the noise, stay for the revolution.
Born from the heart of Baltimore’s vibrant music scene, Billy Rooster Band is a high-energy trio blending the raw emotion of emo with the infectious hooks of pop punk. Fronted by William Flagle, who began his musical journey at just 13 in Towson, Maryland, Billy Rooster Band took flight in 2020, and in 2024 with the addition of powerhouse drummer Austin Collins and groove-driven bassist Brendan Clarke, along with guitarist Matt Aasen, the first lineup was complete.
The band’s early sound was shaped in part by former guitarist Matt Aasen, whose contributions helped define their initial style and stage presence. In 2025, Matt stepped away from the band, making way for the arrival of Garrett Bugg, whose dynamic playing and fresh energy have brought a new edge to the band’s evolving sound.
Since their debut, Billy Rooster Band has become a staple at iconic local venues like Ottobar and Zen West, earning a loyal following with their electrifying performances and nostalgic yet fresh sound. Drawing inspiration from genre-defining acts like Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, and Mayday Parade, the band channels the spirit of the early 2000s while carving out a sound that’s uniquely their own.
Their debut album, “That’s Just Life,” released in July 2024, captures the highs and lows of growing up, falling in love, and finding your place in the world. With a follow-up album out now, Billy Rooster Band is just getting started—and they’re ready to take their sound to the next level.
