Go from the Pit to the Prom with Peak Bloom, Somebody's Daughter, and Cryptid Summer to benefit the Montgomery County Pride Prom on Friday, July 31 at the Pie Shop. Ticket proceeds support the DMV's annual alternative prom for LGBTQ+ youth.
Peak Bloom is a 5-piece alternative/punk outfit from the 51st state, Washington DC. Formed in 2019, the group blends punk, hardcore, emo, and alternative influences into powerful, energetic performances that capture the spirit of the DC DIY punk scene.
Somebody’s Daughter is a high energy DC-based trio blending catchy synth-pop grooves with a grungy, emotional edge as an outlet for the ordeals and joys of trans womanhood. The band draws on their wide range of musical backgrounds: from punk rock and jazz to indie and opera. Their music is defiant, hopeful, and above all, loud.
Cryptid Summer have a bone to pick with the status quo &, as a goth band, they are never short on bones. The 4 piece are known for playing loud, lilting, mournful melodies & not knowing what to do with their hands in group photos. Their debut album, “Where the Earth has Teeth” is available from a’ La Carte records.
