JP Hudson is a singer-songwriter from somewhere in the continental United States. He
is a founding member and drummer for the local indie rock group The Crystal Casino
Band. Now he’s carving out a new path rooted in folk rock, writing and performing his
own songs.
His music blends elements of folk, country, and classic singer-songwriter traditions, with
a sound that’s straightforward, guitar-driven, and focused on storytelling. Influenced by
artists like Bruce Springsteen, Drive-By Truckers, and The Band, JP writes songs about
working-class lives, long drives, and the weight of memory. He’s currently working on
his debut solo project, set for release in 2025.
The Heat – the upcoming album by Little Lungs – is an examination of love, loss, and
rebirth, exploring the tumultuous end of a volatile relationship and the newfound
freedom left in its wake. Led by principal songwriter and lyricist Leena Rhodes, Little
Lungs combines warm guitar melodies, intimate lyrics, and grounded, driving rhythms
that create a sprawling universe of folk and indie rock. Backed by Brendan Russell
(bass), Eli Simms (drums), and various friends and collaborators, Little Lungs actualizes
the obscure emotions you can’t quite explain – the innate feeling of absence; the flux of
infatuation; the beauty of intoxication. With vivid imagery and decisive storytelling, Little
Lungs creates a warm, intimate universe that is both welcoming and private, inviting the
listener to be a fly on the wall of their room. Their new album, The Heat is available this
fall.
