Rooted in the traditions of '70s rock and roll, a la Queen and Paul Simon, The North Country frontman Andrew Grossman brings together a new band with new songs, backed by a who’s who of DC rock and roll heavy hitters for a fun, rollicking good time. Guitar and organ solos abound.
Singer-songwriter and keyboard player Laurel Halsey has teamed up with Joshua Curry on bass, Austin Blanton on drums, and both on vocal harmonies to deliver indie ballad pop reminiscent of such aughts favorites as Feist and Tennis and such vintage classics as The Flamingos and Nico. You'll bop your head, you'll feel feelings, you may even search your soul.
Pocket Moon is glitch-folk constellation of Philly duo Kelly Servick and Austin Blanton. With cello, voice, bass, and electronics, they weave songs that shimmer at the edges—intimate, delicate and digitally frayed. Think lullabies for satellites and broken tape machines. Servick’s ethereal vocals and expressive cello meet Blanton’s grounding bass lines and electronics, forming songs that flicker between fragility and distortion— Drawing from folk, ambient, and experimental pop, Pocket Moon invites listeners into a world where organic and synthetic sounds drift in and out of orbit.
